Remote Work & File Access

Secure remote work and file access for hybrid teams

Your team needs the same files and apps at home, in the office and on the road. We set up fast, secure remote access and file sharing that’s simple for staff and safe for your business.

Hybrid work essentials
  • SharePoint and OneDrive file sharing
  • Secure VPN or cloud-based access to office systems
  • Multi-factor authentication on every sign-in
  • Managed, encrypted work laptops
  • Helpdesk support for home-office issues

No more workarounds

Remote work without the security shortcuts

When remote work happens in a hurry, shortcuts creep in: files emailed back and forth, personal cloud storage accounts, remote desktop opened directly to the internet and passwords shared over text. Each one is convenient, and each one is a gap attackers love.

We replace those workarounds with proper tools that are just as easy to use. Your team gets one familiar place to find files, secure access to the systems they need and the same protection at the kitchen table as at the office.

  • One organized, searchable home for company files
  • Access controlled by role, not by who knows the password
  • Every sign-in protected by MFA
  • Easy, secure sharing with clients and partners

SharePoint and OneDrive give secure access to documents from any device, with version history and easy collaboration.

Secure VPN

An encrypted tunnel to office systems that must stay on-site, protected by MFA and limited to what each user needs.

Virtual desktops

A full, cloud-hosted Windows desktop with all your apps. Learn more about virtual desktops.

Home office checklist

What a secure home office looks like

  • A company-managed, encrypted laptop
  • Automatic updates and endpoint protection
  • MFA on email, files and remote access
  • Files saved to OneDrive or SharePoint, not the desktop
  • A home router with a strong, updated password
  • A clear way to reach the helpdesk when something breaks

Frequently asked questions

Do we still need a VPN?

It depends. If your files and apps live in Microsoft 365 or other cloud services, many businesses no longer need a traditional VPN. If you keep servers or software on-site, a properly secured VPN is still a sensible way to reach them.

Can staff use their personal computers to work from home?

It’s possible with the right controls, such as browser-only access or a virtual desktop that keeps data off the personal device. For most businesses, we recommend company-managed laptops for anyone who works with sensitive information.

Can we stop files from being downloaded to personal devices?

Yes. Microsoft 365 policies can allow viewing and editing in the browser while blocking downloads, syncing or printing on unmanaged devices.

What if a remote employee’s home internet is unreliable?

Our helpdesk can troubleshoot home Wi-Fi and router issues. Cloud-based files and apps also handle slower connections better than older remote desktop setups.

How do we share files securely with clients?

SharePoint and OneDrive support secure sharing links with expiry dates, passwords and view-only access, so you never need to email sensitive attachments again.
